In the late 1980's the United States was to do tests regarding psychological operations and their effects on people. They released a conspiracy theory involving free masons, and the global elite as occult figures to see the psychological effects on dangerous prisoners. Many of the prisoners started to show signs of paranoid schizophrenia. The lesser effected prisoners even occasionally suffered paranoid delusions. Many started to see Satan all around them, as they believed Major world figures and politicians were apart of an occult bloodline. The conspiracy rendered these men unemployable and in a state of psychosis. The United States government realized the power of conspiracy as a form to rewire and render human beings with psychological pathologies normally caused be serious disease into once somewhat healthy people.
The effects on the men after prison were disastrous, many were re-incarcerated after their prison stint on inexplicably silly matters. Routine traffic stops turned into brawls with police officers as the men were simply fighting the New World Order system etc. Many became obsessed with the end times and Biblical prophecy. Their children were left to suffer the damaging consequences of the effects of the conspiracy. Fatherless children also drifted into crime and poor grades at school. Single mothers were left using food stamps and the cycle of misery and poverty continued.
Since many of these men lacked any relevant education they did not have the tools to figure out that the conspiracies they were fed in prison were completely false. Also their increased religiosity gave them a strong confirmation bias. Meaning anything that did not gel with their belief in the conspiracies of an occult global takeover was ignored by their sub conscious mind. They became heavily reactionary, because their minds lacked the tools to reason, they simply did the opposite of whatever the system preached. For example, the system said " Work a job, and take care of your children". They said "We don't want to be wage slaves, and pay taxes to this occult system". This mentality led to further incarceration and suffering for their families.
The whole time no such conspiracy existed. However it was presented in a way which became the ultimate reality to the prisoners and caused devastating consequences. It actually started to give meaning to the lives of the prisoners and they took great pride in "fighting the power" and they arrogantly laughed "at the silly people" who were "in the claws of the system".
It taught the U.S government about the power of conspiracy over the mind, and how otherwise normal healthy people could be programmed into having serious mental illness without any drugs.
